Arsenal have started their UEFA Europa League campaign with an outstanding win against German side Eintracht Frankfurt with Bukayo Saka putting on an incredible performance.
Arsenal have kicked off their UEFA Europa League campaign with a 3 nil win over German side Eintracht Frankfurt thanks to goals from Willock, Saka and Aubameyang. The gunners came into this match after two consecutive draws against Tottenham Hotspur and Watford but they however delivered this time as you’d expect from the UEFA Europa League finalists.
TALKING POINTS FROM THE MATCH
Emiliano Martinez put on an incredible performance and if he keeps up, maybe he could give Bernd Leno a run for his money. The Argentina international is an incredible shot stopper and saved the gunners numerous times with his fast reflexes in this game, his only weakness is that he is poor with his feet but that’s something that he can still improve on.
It looks like Unai Emery has learnt from his mistakes as his team today didn’t continually play out of the back since it was clear that Eintracht Frankfurt was going to try to press like how Watford did last weekend. Arsenal did play out from the back but it was not constant in this game since the gunners preferred sending long balls to Aubameyang.
The Arsenal youngsters have today made Unai Emery and Freddie Ljungberg proud as they put on an incredible performance vs the German side. Bukayo Saka was the brightest of all of them as he took this opportunity to impress Unai Emery, the young winger assisted Joe Willock who scored a beautiful goal in the first half. Bukayo Saka was once again impressive in the second half as he started many counter attacks and was helping out in defence, he got his big moment when the gunners drove forward through Dani Ceballos who passed to Pepe and the Ivorian international gave the ball to Sako who sent a whooping shot into the back of the net. Emile Smith Rowe showed great glimpses of brilliance but he however lost the ball numerous times.
Nicolas Pepe and Dani Ceballos had an impact on the game as they were involved in the second goal and Ainsley Maitland-Niles didn’t put any foot wrong in the few minutes that he played. Aubameyang made sure that he scored in Germany after Bukayo Saka won the ball and passed it to him to seal all the three points for the gunners. So Unai Emery will be returning to London with a smile on his face.
