Arsenal appointed Mikel Arteta as their new head coach in December last year and he hasn’t had a good start to his managerial career as he has only got one win in his first seven-league matches and its now being reported that he has identified some players that he will axe in the summer transfer window.
Mikel Arteta has now had more than a full month with the Arsenal squad and even though he has got three wins ( 1 in the league and 2 in the FA Cup ) so far since he came in but there has been some frustrating draws that have seen the North London club stay in the 10th position on the Premier League table.
It’s now being reported exclusively by The Sun that Arsenal’s head coach Mikel Arteta will be looking to revamp his squad in the summer transfer window and that he will be looking to sell top earners Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil because he has not been happy with their performances in the last few weeks. The report claims that six players including those three have 18 months remaining on their contract and that they could be sold in the next transfer window since Arsenal’s head of football Raul Sanllehi has told Mikel Arteta that he won’t allow any player to leave on a free transfer.
Aubameyang has been impressive for Arsenal this season as he is their top scorer but he is however yet to sign a new deal and the above report claims that if the gunners do indeed convince him to commit his future to the North London club then that would be the end for Alexandre Lacazette who would then be put on the summer transfer window sell list.
Mesut Ozil is Arsenal’s top earner but he hasn’t been putting in quality performances this season and the club will definitely try to sell him in the summer transfer window as his huge contract is stretching the club’s wage bill. Sokratis, Luiz and Mustafi are in their final 18 months at the club and as per the same report, Mikel Arteta will have to choose who he wants to sell on those three.
