Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has just one more year on his current contract at Arsenal and there hasn’t been any indications that the Gabon international will be committing his future to the North London club. The gunners will obviously want him to stay but current reports claim he has had a conversation with Real Madrid.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang arrived at Arsenal in the 2018 January transfer window and he has been an incredible signing as he has scored over 50 goals for the club in just two years. The former Borussia Dortmund was one of the three Premier League top scorers last season and is currently second in this year’s run for the golden boot but there is increasing fears that the gunners might not keep him as he wants to end his career with trophies and playing in UEFA Champions League football.

A report by The Express claims that Aubameyang has been told by Zinedine Zidane that he is their second choice target if they fail to land Erling Haaland who has this season been impressive at Borussia Dortmund. The report also claims that Real Madrid would have to pay around £50million to get the signature of Aubameyang because Arsenal will want to recoup most of the amount that they paid for him in 2018.

It will be interesting to see if the Spanish giants will still be able to put on a concrete chase for Aubameyang after the COVID-19 virus gets defeated as most European leagues are yet to decide on if they’ll return at their specified restart dates. Arsenal will need to get Champions League football this season because it’s believed that Aubameyang could only be able to commit his future to the Emirates if they secure qualification to next season’s UCL.
