Arsenal completed the signing of Bernd Leno from Bayer Leverkusen for €22 million in the 2018 summer transfer window and he has turned to be an exceptional signing as he has been one of their best players in the last one and half season. Arsenal legend David Seaman has however highlighted what he believes that the 28-year-old needs to improve in.

Bernd Leno arrived at the Emirates Stadium in 2018 and even though it took some months for him to replace Petr Cech, he eventually showed that he was the better goalkeeper and has since then been Arsenal’s first choice goalkeeper and he has received a lot of praise in this campaign since him and Aubameyang have been influential in them getting points in some games that didn’t seem to be in their favour.

Arsenal legend David Seman who is one of Arsenal’s best goalkeepers in the club’s history says that even though he is a big fan of the German goalkeeper, he however believes that Bernd Leno needs to improve in how he handles crosses that are sent into the penalty box.

“With Leno, I’m very confident, I think he needs a bit of work with crossing if I’m honest, he sometimes comes out for the cross when he doesn’t need to.” David Seaman said in the Handbrake Off podcast.

“That decision on whether to come out for the cross or just say no is a massive decision and I think he needs not to come out as much as he does.”

The Arsenal legend also then later spoke out that one of the reasons that he likes Bernd Leno is because the German international does not do flashy saves for the cameras like most modern goalkeepers do nowadays.
