Arsenal receive a boost in their pursuit of Dayot Upamecano
Arsenal will reportedly be looking to sign Dayot Upamecano in the summer transfer window and they have received a boost in their pursuit of the Frenchman centre back.
Arsenal are interested in Dayot Upamecano and they’ve been linked with a move for the French defender since last year’s summer transfer window. The gunners will reportedly try to sign Dayot Upamecano once again in the summer transfer window and new reports are claiming that Arsenal might have received a boost in their pursuit of the 21-year-old.
Dayot Upamecano has been one of the best young defenders in the world this season and this has seen a host of top European clubs get interested in him as he is a very tall, strong and versatile centre back that could be an incredible signing for any club in the world.
A report by Spanish outlet Sport claims that Dayot Upamecano has disappointed clubs like Real Madrid and Barcelona by making it clear that he would like to play in the Premier League next season hence giving Arsenal a boost since they have in the last 12 months been the front-runners from England in the pursuit of the RB Leipzig centre back. The report claims that Barcelona were indeed interested in RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano but they will however have a hard time in trying to convince him to join them due to his desire to play in the Premier League and the gunners will surely be happy with this since they were not going to financially compete with the Spanish Champions.
Dayot Upamecano’s current contract at RB Leipzig will be ending in 2021 and the German side have already urged him to extend his deal with them since he is still young. Their director said that the 21-year-old shouldn’t rush in making quick decisions about his future but there hasn’t been any reports indicating that he will agree to extend his stay at RB Leipzig. It will be interesting to see if Arsenal will be able to bring in Dayot Upamecano despite all the losses that the Coronavirus pandemic has caused.
