BREAKING: Thomas Partey’s relative all but confirms Arsenal’s move for Atletico Madrid star
Arsenal have in the last 12 months been linked with a move for Thomas Partey and his relative has now opened up about these rumours.

Thomas Partey has been among Arsenal’s transfer targets since last year and there has been an increasing number of reports in the last few weeks claiming that the defensive midfielder could finally make a move to the Emirates Stadium in the upcoming summer transfer window. Thomas Partey’s father Jacob Partey has spoken out about the future of his son and also confirmed Arsenal’s interest.
Thomas Partey joined Atletico Madrid in 2013 and he has in the last few years became an important player in Diego Simeone’s side as he was even instrumental in their best two matches against Liverpool this season. The Arsenal fans are excited about the possibility of getting Thomas Partey since he is a versatile player that would instantly improve their side as they have struggled in midfield this season.
Thomas Partey’s father Jacob Partey recently was interviewed on a local Ghana radio station called Tru FM, he was asked about the transfer rumours that have been linking his son to a move to Arsenal and he confirmed that these reports were indeed true. Jacob Partey also said that he would be happy with his son moving to Arsenal.

Thomas Partey and his father
“I called my son after hearing the rumours and he told me that the rumours are true. He told me they are holding talks between him and Arsenal.” said Partey’s dad as quoted by GhanaWeb.
“It all depends on the offer Atletico are demanding. If he goes to Arsenal fine, they have a lot supporters in Ghana. I will be happy if he decides to move to Arsenal. What they are discussing now is how Atletico will release him”, he said.”
It will be interesting to see if Arsenal does pull off this deal because it’s reported that most clubs have taken financial hits due to the Corona virus pandemic but that will definitely not stop the Arsenal fans from getting excited about this quote as he is a player that they would like to have in their team.
