Arsenal have spent months trying to convince Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to accept a new deal because he has been their best player in the two seasons that he has been at the club. New reports from Spain say that the gunners might have finally been successful in convincing Aubameyang to stay at the club.

Aubameyang has scored over 50 goals in just the two years that he has been here and the club now wants to make sure that they don’t lose him for free next year since his current deal was to see him leave the North Londoners in 2021. It was reported at the start of this season that the club had started new contract talks with Aubameyang but we however never received an update on these talks from the club or the player himself.

Spanish newspaper Sport has released a story in their paper as translated by Sports Witness which says that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is tired of waiting for other clubs to approach him over a possible summer move and that he has then decided to renew his deal to extend his stay at Arsenal. The report says that Aubameyang’s family wanted him to join Barcelona but that has however failed and so that he will be looking to renew his deal with the gunners but they however don’t mention if he has already put pen to paper to that new deal.

The Arsenal fans would be so happy if it was indeed confirmed that Aubameyang had indeed signed a new contract because he is not only the captain of their club but he is also their best player as well as being a fan favourite. They have in the last few weeks been in fear of losing Aubameyang to Barcelona or Inter Milan since the Gabon international has heavily been linked with a move to either of those clubs.

I enjoy football so much and I am in love with Arsenal Football Club. I always watch the matches and will always give you my opinions about the game here.
