Arsenal have a total of six senior players out on loan namely; Mohamed Elneny, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Dejan Iliev, Dinos Mavropanos, William Saliba and Emile Smith Rowe. Arsenal will try to sell some of these players in the summer of transfer window and so we take a look at players that Mikel Arteta needs to give a chance when they return to the Emirates Stadium.

1. WILLIAM SALIBA

William Saliba was one of the best young defenders on the transfer market last year and the gunners managed to convince him to join them but Saint-Etienne wanted him for one more season and Arsenal accepted to loan him there. As for Saliba, it’s quite obvious that Mikel Arteta will have to give him a chance next season as the club spent a lot of money on him and they’ll be hoping to see how he performs in the Premier League.

Salina has been one of the best players of Saint-Etienne this season but injuries have however disturbed him but the French Ligue side has been going on form whenever he is fit and has a consistent run of games in the squad. The Arsenal fans have already seen Arteta improve Shkodran Mustafi and so they will be waiting to see him do it with William Saliba who is younger and has potential to be one of the best centre backs.

2. HENRIKH MKHITARYAN

This one is a bit tricky because Arsenal will be looking to reduce on their wage bill and Mkhitaryan is one of the highest earners but he has however been impressive in Serie A this season as he has scored six goals and made three assists hence AS Roma hoping to permanently sign him. Arsenal have used many youngsters this season and even though they have been impressive this season, some senior players are sometimes needed so that the young players don’t get under a lot of pressure to perform.

There’s a possibility that Mkhitaryan might be better next season in Mikel Arteta’s system and the Armenian did once complain that he didn’t like how he was being used by Unai Emery.

3. EMILE SMITH ROWE

Emile Smith Rowe seemed like the most skillful player in the Arsenal U-23 squad but it is however surprising how the likes of Bukayo Saka and Joe Willock are now ahead of him in the pecking order due to injuries. Arsenal however made the right decision of deciding to loan Emile Smith Rowe to Huddersfield Town in the Championship and he has been impressive, and the North Londoners will be hoping he continues to mature there as he needs the minutes after having missed a lot of football due to injuries.

Usually nicknamed as Arsenal’s KDB by the supporters, the young forward will deserve another chance in the first team under Mikel Arteta as injuries are the reason why he didn’t establish himself in the team but his progress on the loan needs to be rewarded with a spot in the 2020/21 season.
