Mikel Arteta speaks out on what they’re doing in terms of transfers during the lockdown
Arsenal fans are excited to see what the club will be doing in the summer transfer window and their head coach Mikel Arteta has opened up on this.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has in the last four weeks went from testing positive of COVID-19 to now start preparing for the restart of the Premier League and since we would have been close to the start of the transfer window according to normal schedule, the fans are excited to see what their club will have in store for them.
Arsenal like all the Premier League clubs have taken massive financial hits since the Coronavirus pandemic has seen almost all football leagues get cancelled and we still don’t know when they will be returning but it is possible that games could start being played at the start of June as per the rumours. Even though the summer transfer window will not be at the time period that it is usually in but it will still happen when the leagues get concluded.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta recently had an interview with The Arsenal Player and he said that they are using this lockdown period as a pre-season since he didn’t get the chance to have one with the squad and was then asked if scouting and transfer plans will still be done in these times since it seems like a typical end of the season period.
“Absolutely. We have a lot of meetings to try and plan the season. We might have one, two, three different scenarios and we have to be prepared for all of them.” said the 38-year-old boss.
“I’m not a person that likes improvising a lot so yeah we have to know the circumstances can change every week and we have to be prepared as a club to react to that and adapt.”
It looks like Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta has been consistent in saying that their transfer plans will depend on the three different scenarios as he said the same thing in another interview. Most gooners believe that these three scenarios depend on their hopes of getting in the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League spots or possibly failing to get any European football for next season.
