Revealed: All you need to know about Arteta’s three summer targets
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta will be looking to improve his team in the summer and he has reportedly identified three targets.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta will be looking to sign new players in the upcoming summer transfer window as he will be expected to rebuild the squad of the North Londoners ahead of his first full season at the Emirates Stadium. The gunners will want to make sure that they fully back Arteta in the summer and the Football.London reports that Arsenal’s top three targets are Dayot Upamecano, Jonathan David and Odsonne Edouard.
The gunners will obviously have a hard time in getting all these three done because a number of factors need to happen before the interest materializes to actually beginning negations with their respective clubs. However, here’s what you need to know about these transfer targets.
1. DAYOT UPAMECANO
Dayot Upamecano has been one of the best defenders this season in the German Bundesliga as he has been one of the players that have helped RB Leipzig to be in the title talk and he has also been impressive in the UEFA Champions League with his notable performance being the 2nd leg against Tottenham Hotspur a few weeks back.

Pre-corona virus, Dayot Upamecano was valued at about €60million but that has probably changed as most clubs have taken financial hits and his club sporting director recently came out with a sstatement, saying that he hopes that the Frenchman signs a new deal and that he shouldn’t make any quick decision as it could affect his career in the long run. Arsenal will be keeping a close eye on the situation and will definitely try to sign the 21-year-old.
2. JONATHAN DAVID
Jonathan David has been impressive for Gent in the Jupiler Pro League this season as he has scored 19 goals for Belgian side Gent hence attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs like Arsenal and their arch rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
The 20-year-old is an incredible player that can play in central midfield or in attacking positions and the gunners will be hoping that they are the club that will snap him up as Mikel Arteta will next season hope to have more goal threats in his team since Arsenal have scored very few goals in this campaign compared to the past seasons.
3. ODSONNE EDOUARD

Football.London’s report above claims that Arsenal have been scouting Odsonne Edouard throughout this campaign and this is a player that could however join the gunners when either Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang leave the club in this upcoming summer transfer window.
Odsonne Edouard has been impressive for Celtic this season as he has scored 22 goals and making 7 assists in the league and many clubs have become interested in him including Arsenal who worked with Celtic in the 2019 summer to sign Kieran Tierney. Another advantage of signing Edouard is that he is a very hardworking forward that will fit Arteta’s system.
