Arsenal have this season as always struggled with injuries but with the Premier League coming to an abrupt stop due to the spread of the Coronavirus, footballers that were on the sidelines have the chance to recover while the league is not continuing. The gunners have now received a massive injury boost as their defender Calum Chambers has begun running on the training ground after five months on the sidelines.

Calum Chambers got ruled out for six to nine months when he had a ruptured ACL in Arsenal’s 2-1 loss to Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium last year and he has since then been at home since he had to get a surgery done on him since it was a very serious injury. However, with the COVID-19 pandemic putting a stop to most European leagues, Chambers has started running on the training ground with the season not done yet and it’s a massive step to his recovery.

Chambers would have gone back to the grass without his teammates in the normal football schedule but he will however be working on his recovery while seeing his teammates train for the upcoming games and him getting nearer to returning will be a big morale booster to them as they prepare for the return of the Premier League. Chambers played a few games under Arteta but it was however clear that the new Arsenal boss will like having him as he is a great ball playing centre back that could fit his philosophy and so the Englishman will be hoping to quickly return to cement a place in the starting eleven.

Calum Chambers will obviously not be ready for the upcoming Premier League games that start next month but his recovery is still important as it could also affect the club’s plans for the summer transfer window.
