Factors that could see Aubameyang and Lacazette stay at Arsenal for next season
Aubameyang and Lacazette have been linked with a move away from Arsenal for months now but there are factors that might see them stay at the club.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will be entering the final year of his current contract at Arsenal in July and Alexandre Lacazette has been underwhelming this season and linked with an exit hence many believing that the North Londoners might lose the both of them in the summer transfer window. We however take a good look at why the gunners might start next season with Lacazette and Aubameyang still at the club.
1. AUBAMEYANG
Aubameyang will be one of the top strikers on the transfer market in the summer transfer window and a lot of clubs will be interested in him since he will be cheap due to having just one year on his current deal at the Emirates Stadium. Aubameyang is however Arsenal’s best player and the gunners will definitely put up a big asking price for him since they don’t want to lose him and due to the financial impact that the Coronavirus has caused then there could be a few clubs that could afford him.
Inter Milan and Barcelona have been the most linked clubs but even the reports have been saying that either of them signing him would depend on many things such as the Catalan club signing him if they fail to land their main target Lautaro Martínez who has been impressive this season. Inter Milan would also not make a move for Aubameyang if they don’t lose Lautaro to Barcelona and so it’s a pretty interesting situation with a lot of question marks but Arsenal might get lucky and manage to keep their captain. Another club that has been linked with a move for Aubameyang is Real Madrid and even though they might have all the capabilities of getting him, it’s reported that their main targets are Kylian Mbappe and Erling Braut Håland.
2. ALEXANDRE LACAZETTE
Lacazette’s current contract at Arsenal will expire in 2022 and the only club that have heavily been linked with a move for him are Atletico Madrid who in the past came close to signing him from Lyon. The gunners signed Lacazette in 2017 but he was however underwhelming in his first season at the club but redeemed himself in his second season by having a fantastic partnership with Aubameyang.
Atletico Madrid are believed to have made Lacazette their second option if they fail to land Cavani in the summer and the gunners will not be worried about the Spanish side coming for their striker since Diego Simeone has made it clear that he wants the Paris Saint Germain striker because he would fit his team.
And so there’s high chance that Arsenal might still have Aubameyang and Lacazette in their team at the start of next season even if it might mean that they let their captain later leave the club on a free transfer the next year.
