Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will soon enter the final year of his contract at Arsenal and the contract talks are believed to have stopped due to the COVID-19 pandemic but there has also been no sign that the Gabon international will be signing a new deal. Granit Xhaka has spoken out on the possibility of Arsenal losing Aubameyang.

Aubameyang arrived at Arsenal in the 2018 winter transfer window and he has been such an outstanding signing as he has scored 61 goals in 97 appearances for the North Londoners. The Gabon international has been worth every penny that the gunners paid for him since as he has been the man keeping them in the top half of the Premier League table this season as he has already scored 17 in the league so far.

Xhaka who arrived at Arsenal two years before Aubameyang understands how the gunners really value the 30-year-old as he says that the Gabon international leaving would be a huge loss for the club since he is a great goal scorer. The Swiss international also says that Aubameyang is a nice person and that he is also professional.

“If that were to happen, it would, of course, be a great loss for the team and the club.” Granit Xhaka told SportBild.

“Auba is always dangerous and always good for a goal, and as a guy, he’s also really great. He is always positive, optimistic, helpful and very professional.”

It will be interesting to see what decisions that Aubameyang makes in the upcoming months because most people expect him to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window but it is however believed that he could consider staying at the Emirates Stadium if they get back into the UEFA Champions League. The Premier League will probably start next month and so the Arsenal fans will be hoping to get into the UCL spots so that they can be able to keep their captain Aubameyang at the club.
