Report: Update on Aubameyang and Saka new contract talks as they keep getting linked with exit
The gunners will be looking to renew the contracts of both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka since their current deals expire in 2021.
Both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Bukayo Saka will soon be entering the final year of their current contracts at the club and they have both been linked with a move to Barcelona or Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund respectively. Saka and Aubameyang are very important players at Arsenal and the club would receive a lot of criticism from its fans if they left.
Aubameyang has been Arsenal’s best player this season as he has scored 20 goals in all competitions but they have however not had any success in trying to tie him down to a new deal since his current one ends in 2021. Bukayo Saka is also in the same situation as his current deal will end in 2021 and even though he has little leverage on the club, he is still a promising youngster that the fans are urging the club to quickly tie down to a new deal to avoid making the same mistake like they did when they let Gnabry leave for peanuts.
ESPN has given an update on the current contract situation of Aubameyang and Saka and it says that the gunners have so far put the new contract talks with the Gabon international on hold for now due to COVID-19 and because the player is also not sure if he would like to give the last good years of his career to Arsenal when the chances of them competing for trophies is currently very low, they also add that Aubameyang will be waiting to see if Arsenal qualify for next season’s UEFA Champions League before making a decision on whether he stays.
The report also says that Saka’s recent performances have seen him have high chances of receiving an England call up from head coach Gareth Southgate and they also say that Borussia Dortmund are indeed interested in the 18-year-old who will soon be in the final year of his current contract. They claim that Saka really loves Arsenal since he joined the club the age of nine but that some clubs might snatch him by showing how they might develop him better than the gunners.
