Arsenal faced Tottenham Hotspur away from home on Sunday and lost the game 2-1 after a series of mistakes from their defence and inability to create or finish off their chances. Some gooners have started asking themselves why Arteta didn’t bring Ozil to the squad that played in the North London Derby and he has talked about in his post-match press conference.

Arsenal said in their team news that Mesut Ozil would be assessed ahead of this match due to a back soreness but this has been included in the team news for many weeks hence many believing that the club is just using that as an excuse for them to drive out the German international.

The gunners had most of the possession in the game against Tottenham Hotspur and hence many believing that Arteta should have atleast brought Mesut Ozil since he can be able to break down defenses. Mikel Arteta was asked about the situation of Mesut Ozil after the North London Derby and he didn’t give out any information as he confirmed that it will be dealt with internally.

“He is still in the same position and we will manage everything internally. I have nothing to say.” Arteta told the media.

It has been pretty clear that Arteta is determined to not play Mesut Ozil since the Premier League restart as he didn’t even use him in the match in which he was at the bench and this has come as a big surprise to many since the 31 year old became a regular starter under the Spanish boss when he had just arrived at the club.

Mesut Ozil last played for Arsenal in February and Arteta has always said in his press conferences that he won’t handle this issue publicly and this has led to the fans theorizing as to why the German international has drastically fallen out of favour at the Emirates Stadium.
