Arsenal starting eleven to face Villarreal revealed as Arteta makes some changes
Arsenal’s starting eleven to face Villarreal has been released and Mikel Arteta has made some changes to the squad that played last Friday.
The UEFA Europa League semi finals begins today and Arsenal have today been welcomed at the Estadio de la Cerámica stadium by Villarreal and the lineups of both teams have just been released with Mikel Arteta making some changes to the squad that he used in the Premier League on Friday last week.
ARSENAL STARTING ELEVEN TO FACE VILLARREAL
Leno, Chambers, Holding, Mari, Saka, Xhaka, Partey, Ceballos, Smith Rowe, Odegaard, Pepe
SUBSTITUTES:
Ryan, Okonkwo, Bellerin, Gabriel, Willian, Aubameyang, Cedric, Luiz, Nelson, Elneny, Nketiah, Martinelli
Arsenal will hope that Thomas Partey impresses tonight since they will need to win the midfield battle to get a win away from home and they will hope that he shines since this is a familiar team and stadium to the Ghanaian international as he was in Spain for a long time. The gunners were worried that their captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang would not be in the matchday squad of today since he recently had malaria but it’s probably a boost to the rest of the squad that their main leader is available.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta fully understands how this will be a very important game for him and their squad as winning the UEFA Europa League could be their only way of getting back into the UEFA Champions League since they have struggled in the league this season.
