Predicted Arsenal lineup to face Villarreal with all eyes on Aubameyang
Arsenal will play Villarreal this week and here’s the predicted lineup of the gunners with all eyes on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
Arsenal will on Thursday face Villarreal at the Estadio de la Cerámica and Mikel Arteta will come into this match with the hope of getting the win of the first leg as it could be very important in deciding the outcome of the tie. Arsenal’s lineup isn’t out yet but we take a look at the predicted lineup of the North Londoners with all eyes on Aubameyang who just returned from injury.
PREDICTED ARSENAL LINEUP TO FACE VILLARREAL ON THURSDAY
FORMATION: 4-2-3-1
TEXT LINEUP: Leno, Tierney, Mari, Holding, Chambers. Xhaka, Partey, Smith Rowe, Odegaard, Saka, Aubameyang
GOALKEEPING:
Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno made a mistake in the game against Everton but Mikel Arteta will likely not drop him for such an important game and so he will definitely be in the lineup that faces Villarreal.
DEFENCE:
Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney got injured a few weeks back but Mikel Arteta said that he would be in the squad that travels to Spain so he could definitely start at left back and Chambers on 14th he right while Mari and Holding start as centre backs.
CENTRAL MIDFIELD:
Granit Xhaka leaving the left back position could be huge for Mikel as he would be able to use his preferred central midfield duo of the Swiss international and Thomas Partey.
ATTACKING MIDFIELD:
Martin Odegaard is likely to start as the central attacking midfield and so this would mean that Emile Smith Rowe might not start but that might not be the case as Arteta has used him on the wing to accommodate him. So Emile Smith Rowe and Bukayo Saka could start on the flanks while Odegaard plays as a no. 10.
STRIKING:
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will likely start as he has fully recovered from malaria and all eyes will be on him to deliver in the striking role.
