Arsenal make progress in their pursuit of Ben White after first bid’s rejection
Arsenal’s first bid for Ben White was yesterday rejected and its now reported that the gunners might have made progress in their pursuit of the Englishman.
Arsenal have decided to try to sign a new centre back in this summer transfer window despite having many of them on their books right now and they yesterday had their bid of £40million for Brighton’s Ben White rejected. Arsenal’s first bid was a clear indication that the gunners were serious about wanting to sign Ben White and its now reported that they have made progress in their pursuit of the Englishman.
Arsenal finished 8th on the Premier League table last season and among their main problems was their inability to defend as they many times gave away points in matches that they should have won. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has often talked about how it’s very important to have a good back line to compete with the big boys of the Premier League and it now looks like he has got his hopes on Ben White being the player that will elevate his defence ahead of his second full season.
Brighton & Hove Albion rejected Arsenal’s bid of £40million for Ben White yesterday and many have been curious to know if the gunners will now simply back off but Football.London journalist Chris Wheatley has confirmed that the gunners are making progress in their pursuit of the 23 year old as they are now in steps of making a new and improved deal to try to tempt the The Seagulls.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the next couple of days as it seems like Arsenal are very determined to sign White even though they reportedly have a tight budget to spend in this summer transfer window.
