Thomas Partey to wear his favourite shirt number starting next season
Partey is to be handed a new shirt number for next season and will abandon the no.18 jersey.

Thomas Partey will reportedly wear a new shirt number starting next season. The Ghanaian midfielder will switch to his preferred number 5 abandoning the number 18 shirt which he donned this season.
Partey completed a £45m move from Atletico Madrid and was handed the number 18 shirt for the season because the number 5 shirt was occupied.
The departure of Greek defender Sokratis has left the shirt number 5 vacant which Partey is expected to inherit. He wore the number 5 at Atletico Madrid and Mallorca as well as the Ghana national team.
“Thomas Partey will switch to his favorite jersey number 5 for the 2021/2022 Premier League season. Partey wore the number at Atletico Madrid and wears same for the national team but had to settle for 18 because Sokratis already had the number when he joined Arsenal.” Ghanaian journalist Fentuo Tahiru reported.
The 28-year-old anchorman had an up and down debut season that was hindered by injuries and has promised next season will be a better one.
