Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka is said to be interested in leaving the Emirates Stadium this summer and most reports from Italy and England have claimed that AS Roma are close to finalizing a deal to bring him to Serie A. It’s been claimed that Granit Xhaka’s future at Arsenal might have taken another twist despite many waiting for him to join AS Roma.

Granit Xhaka has been at Arsenal since he arrived in 2016 in a deal that was believed to be around £35million and his career at the Emirates Stadium has been nothing short of controversy as he has kept shifting from the good and bad sides of the fans. Granit Xhaka was even given Arsenal’s captaincy by Unai Emery but he however then later lost that title due to a bust up he had with the supporters at the Emirates Stadium in November, 2019.

Granit Xhaka’s move to AS Roma has been heavily reported to be close to completion but a new twist might have happened in the saga of the Swiss international as Calciomercato claims that Juventus have entered the race for the 26 year old midfielder after his impressive performances for Switzerland in this year’s Euros. This will definitely be good for Arsenal as this is likely to see the price for Granit Xhaka skyrocket since AS Roma were yet to meet their demands.

Despite Xhaka’s faults, his departure will hurt Arsenal’s midfield and so Mikel Arteta will hope that he manages to get a good replacement before the 2021/22 season starts and they have already been linked with various midfielders in England and abroad.

I enjoy football so much and I am in love with Arsenal Football Club. I always watch the matches and will always give you my opinions about the game here.
