William Saliba makes decision on future as he waits Mikel Arteta’s plans
Arsenal young defender William Saliba has made a decision on his future after getting approached by a a French club as he waits for Arteta’s plan for him.
Arsenal signed William Saliba on a fee believed to be around €30million in the 2019 summer transfer window and he was immediately loaned back to Saint-Etienne which was the same club that had sold him to the gunners. The young French centre back was last season sent out on loan by Mikel Arteta in January after playing a few Under 23 games of Arsenal.
William Saliba is back at Arsenal and the supporters are curious as to if he will be given a chance next season since he’s yet to play a game for the senior team even though it’s now been two years since he arrived at the Emirates Stadium. William Saliba was recently approached by French side Rennes about the possibility of having him back in the French Ligue one next season and its now reported that he has made a decision on his future.
Ouest-France has now reported that William Salina has rejected the loan offer from Rennes because they kept him waiting last summer due to them not being sure whether they wanted to sign him or not. The report also claims that Saliba’s representatives have met with officials from Arsenal because the young defender wants to know what the plans the club has for him.
William Saliba has received a lot of praise before and after his move to Arsenal but Mikel Arteta has shown to have doubts over him as he sent him to the Under23 squad at the start of last season. The gunners are already reported to be close to agreeing to a deal with Brighton & Hove Albion for Ben White and so chances for William Saliba to get minutes next season continue to decrease.
