Report: Truth on Aubameyang to Barcelona rumours revealed
Arsenal striker and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been linked with an a move to Barcelona but the truth about those rumours has been revealed.

Arsenal completed the signing of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January, 2018 and he has since then been the top scorer of the club since that period as he even won the Premier League golden boot for his goal scoring form in the 2019/20 campaign. Aubameyang struggled a bit last season and there has in the last few hours been reports that he could be on his way to Barcelona in this transfer window.
A report by Sky Sports claimed that Barcelona were indeed interested in Arsenal’s striker and captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and that they were willing to do a swap deal that would see Phillipe Coutinho come to the Emirates Stadium while the Gabon international goes to Camp Nou. These reports have obviously not been well received by Arsenal fans as he is still a fan favourite even though he wasn’t impressive last season but further reliable reports have come out to comment on the above rumours.
Very reliable transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano has come out to reveal the truth on the rumours linking Aubameyang with a move to Barcelona, confirming that this isn’t the case as the 30 year old is not among the targets of the Catalan club.
“Barcelona are currently not negotiating for Pierre Aubameyang from Arsenal as new striker. He’s not a target now, priority is to sell players.” wrote Fabrizio Romano on Twitter.
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang missed Arsenal’s first match of the season due to an illness and so some believed that a possible departure might be likely but it however looks like, if it does happen, it won’t be a move to Barcelona.
