Arsenal returned to winning ways in the league with a dominant 3-1 victory over Aston Villa. The Gunners got their revenge against Aston Villa that had defeated them twice last season.

Thomas Partey gave Arsenal the lead from a headed effort after a corner kick, scoring his first goal for the club. Arsenal doubled their lead right at half time through Aubameyang who had his penalty initially saved by Emiliano Martinez but managed to score from the rebound.

Arsenal continued their dominance in the second half with Emile Smith Rowe finishing off a move he had started in his own half.

Aston Villa managed to pull one back through substitute Jacob Ramsey but it was nothing more than a consolation goal.

This was unarguably Arsenal’s best game of the season aside the north London derby, creating plenty of goal scoring chances and could have scored five or six goals in their dominance over their opponents.

Every Arsenal player put in a shift and deserved credit for the performance. Smith Rowe and Aubameyang were the standout players, each getting a goal and an assist.

The win extended Arsenal’s unbeaten run in the league to six matches, pushing them in to the top half of the table with 14 points from 9 games.
