Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has decided to make Alexandre Lacazette the captain of the gunners until the end of the season and it is still not known if he will remain the leader of the squad for next season as his deal will expire in a few month’s from now. Alexandre Lacazette has come out to speak out on the leaders in the squad and has even hint at the future captains of Arsenal.
The gunners have had problems with their captains for long with some even claiming that the captaincy of the North Londoners is cursed as we saw with Laurent Koscielny refusing to go with the squad for a pre season tour or when Granit Xhaka had a bust up with the supporters in the stadium and the most recent example being Aubameyang being stripped off the armband due to disciplinary issues.
Arsenal’s new captain Alexandre Lacazette recently had an interview with the club and commented on the leadership in the squad and hint at the possible future captains of the North London club.
“There is some future captains. Gabriel, big Gabi, has got presence, leadership at the back. I think when he’s going to be more fluent with English, it will help a lot.” Lacazette told Arsenal.com.
“Ben White as well, he’s more quiet maybe, but by the way he plays he can be a good leader and maybe with edge can build up.”
“Sambi Lokonga, but he’s already been a captain in the past so it’s not hard to say he can be a good captain. Kieran as well because I think he’s been a captain as well in the past for the national team a few times. You can see some future captains, or leaders.”
