Arsenal return to action after a break of ten days and come up against Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon.

With only the Premier League to play for, the Gunners weren’t involved in any matches for ten days since their fixture against Liverpool was postponed due to their involvement in the League Cup final.

Last time out Mikel Arteta’s side snatched a 2-1 win over Wolves after coming from a goal down late in the game and now face a relegation-threatened Watford side.

Team news

Arsenal will be without Takehiro Tomiyasu, the Japanese defender re-injured his other calf after initially recovering.

Arteta will have Emile Smith Rowe at his disposal after he recovered from an illness.

Predicted starting lineup

Ramsdale; Cedric, White, Gabriel, Tierney; Partey, Xhaka; Saka, Odegaard, Smith Rowe; Lacazette

Key stats

Arsenal have scored in all 15 of their Premier League games against Watford, only against West Brom (26/26) do the Gunners have a better 100% scoring rate in the competition.

A win at Vicarage Road will be Arsenal’s fourth consecutive away win, it would be the second time under Mikel Arteta to have four straight away wins (April-May 2021). The Gunners last had a similar feat in October 2016.
