Arsenal set an asking price for record signing Nicolas Pepe
Arsenal will be looking to offload Nicolas Pepe in the summer transfer window and its now reported that they have set an asking price for the winger.
Arsenal broke their record signing fee in 2019 when they broke the bank to sign Nicolas Pepe from French Ligue One side Lille for £72million but this has turned out to have been a poor decision as the Ivorian international has not managed to secure a consistent starting spot in either Unai Emery’s or Mikel Arteta’s side. It’s reported that Arsenal have set an asking price for Nicolas Pepe who they have decided to sell this summer.
Arsenal winger Nicolas Pepe has been unable to get Premier League starts for months and this has likely affected him as its claimed that he is frustrated that he is no longer getting significant game time from Mikel Arteta who seems to have nowadays got more trust in youngsters like Emile Smith Rowe, Bukayo Sako and Gabriel Martinelli.
A report by The Sun is now reporting that Arsenal have set an asking price of £25million for the sale of Nicolas Pepe and they will be hoping some clubs get interested as he is one of their only assets that they can let go while getting a good enough fee. Another bonus for Arsenal will be that the gunners will have also relieved their wage bill as the 26 year old is currently earning £140,000 a week.
It is believed that Arsenal will try to have a squad that is modeled to the vision of Mikel Arteta and Nicolas Pepe might be too old for that now as it looks like the Spanish coach will try to only have a fully youthful attacking squad.
