The summer transfer window will open in a few weeks from now and all clubs including Arsenal will be looking to improve their squads by signing new players as well as getting rid of the current deadwood in their teams. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened up about the type of players that the gunners will likely sign in the summer transfer window that will likely be crucial for the future of the North London club.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has in his time at the club been trying to trim the squad so that he can finally be able to bring in players that fit his ideas but the fans of the North London club want the club to make serious signings in the upcoming summer transfer window since it looks like they might not have got UEFA Champions League football thanks to them not signing anyone in January.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta made it a big priority in signing players that were below 23 years old in the previous summer transfer window and the fans have been curious to know if it will be the same again. Arteta has however said that there will this time not just sign young players but rather top quality players that might not be in the same profile as those signed in previous windows.
“Now we have cleared the deck and now we have a squad balance that is much more like what we want and much more affordable than what we had before.” Mikel Arteta told reporters.
“Now we have to start to add the top-quality pieces that they are not necessarily at 18, 19 or 20-years-old.”
“We will do what it takes to get better in every department. Not only the age group but in terms of the quality, in terms of the leadership, in terms of the goal threat of this team, in terms of the physicality of the team that we need to improve as well so there are a lot of areas.”
