Mikel Arteta makes a statement after getting a new contract from Arsenal
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has signed a new contract with the gunners and he has made a statement on this important announcement in his career at the Emirates Stadium.
Today has turned out to have been a big day for Arsenal as it officially confirmed the renewal of Mikel Arteta’s contract to extend his stay at the Emirates Stadium until 2024/25 as well as also giving a new deal to the women’s coach boss and Jonas Eidevall. This does come as a surprise to many as although there have been rumours of his contract getting renewed, many didn’t expect it to come soon.
Arsenal confirmed Mikel Arteta as their manager at the end of 2019 and he has had an interesting time as the manager of the North Londoners as he has seen them finish 8th on the Premier League table but also led them to their record FA Cup trophy. Mikel Arteta seems to be going in the right direction as they are in pole position to go into the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2016.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has faced a lot of criticism this season but he seems to be very close to achieving the target of the supporters of going into the UEFA Champions League and so the fans aren’t opposed to him getting a renewal as they would have a few months back. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had this to say after signing the new contract from Arsenal.
“I’m excited, grateful and really, really happy today. When I spoke to Josh he could see the club at the same point and he wanted to take the club the way I wanted to do it. So everything that he’s said, and that Stan has said when I’ve been together with both of them, they’ve always delivered.” Mikel Arteta speaks out on Arsenal Media.
“We want to take the club to the next level and to compete really with the top teams. In order to do that, we have to be playing in the Champions League.
“We have to be able to evolve the team, improve our players, improve all departments, generate even more connection with our fans, improve the atmosphere at the Emirates, be able to recruit top, top talent and the best people for this club to drive this project to that level.”
