Arsenal announce the departure of seven players as summer clear-out continues
Arsenal have announced the departure of up to seven players whose contracts were set to expire this month and had no hope of extending.
Arsenal has not been busy as the other clubs when it comes to outgoings and new signings but they have however finally announced on their official website that seven players have left the Emirates Stadium this summer since the club won’t renew their contracts.
Arsenal striker Alexandre Lacazette has been at the Emirates Stadium since 2017 after having made a £50million plus move from Lyon but the gunners have however seen him leave them in 2022 for free since both parties would love to move on. Alexandre Lacazette failed to score a good number of goals last season despite the exit of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and so the club felt it was time to let him go.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has shown commitment to the idea of creating a top class young side and so offering Alexandre Lacazette a contract renewal would have undermined that. Lacazette is among the players that Arsenal have released in this summer. Arsenal have also released the following players in the academy; Jonathan Dinzeyi, Joel Lopez and Jordan McEneff and so they will now be free to choose their next club to advance their career, and the North Londoners will hope that they don’t regret to have released them.
The Arsenal Women Team has also had some players that have left the club; Lisa Evans, Tobin Heath and Viktoria Schnaderbeck. Arsenal supporters will be sad to see the departure of Lisa Evans as she has been a great player for the club.
