Arsenal has been one of the most active clubs in this year’s summer transfer window as they have already completed the signing of three players and a possible fourth in Gabriel Jesus is close to getting completed. Arsenal have added signing a new winger as one of their main summer transfer priorities as Mikel Arteta continues to revamp their squad ahead of the start of next season.
Arsenal identified Leeds United winger Raphinha as the perfect player for Mikel Arteta’s play style and have been in negotiations with the Brazilian international, and his club for weeks now until the unbelievable happened last night. There were reports that the gunners were very close to agreeing a deal with both Leeds United and Raphinha but Chelsea might have stolen him from the North Londoners.
A report by David Ornstein via The Athletic has revealed that Chelsea has moved ahead of Arsenal in the pursuit of Raphinha as he has confirmed that The Blues have agreed a £55million deal with Leeds United for the transfer of the Brazilian international who was incredible in the Premier League last season.
The report claims that Leeds United are very pleased with the offer made by Chelsea and that the West London club will now go into negotiations with Raphinha, and his representatives so that they can finally complete the deal, stealing him from the grips of Arsenal.
