Arsenal’s pursuit of Ecuador international Moises Caicedo has been dealt a blow after Brighton & Hove Albion rejected a £60million fixed bid from the Gunners.

The 21-year-old midfielder has been on Arsenal’s radar for a long time and they had hoped to secure his services in January. However, Brighton have made it clear that Caicedo is not for sale and have turned down the offer from Arsenal as per The Athletic.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is keen to strengthen his midfield options and sees Caicedo as an ideal addition to his squad. The Gunners have already signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion and Jakub Kiwior from Spezia in the Serie A league but they however feel they need a new central midfielder to have a good transfer window.

However, despite Arsenal’s interest in Caicedo, Brighton are adamant that he is not for sale and have no intention of selling him this month or at any point in the future. The Seagulls believe that he can develop into a key player for them over the coming years and are determined to keep hold of him.

It remains to be seen whether Arsenal will make another offer for Caicedo or turn their attention elsewhere before the transfer window closes on February 1st. Regardless, it appears that Brighton & Hove Albion are determined to keep hold of their prized asset and will not be swayed by any offers from potential suitors.

I enjoy football so much and I am in love with Arsenal Football Club. I always watch the matches and will always give you my opinions about the game here.
