BREAKING: Caicedo chase over as Arsenal soon completing Jorginho signing
Arsenal have reportedly finally given up on signing Moises Caicedo and are now in advanced stages of completing the signing of Jorginho from Chelsea.
The Arsenal Football Club is set to make a move for Italian midfielder, Jorginho. The 31 year old player, who currently plays for Chelsea, is expected to sign an agreement with the Gunners in the January transfer window’s DeadlineDay as per The Athletic.
This move comes after Arsenal had already made attempts to recruit 21 year-old Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club. However, Brighton was unwilling to sell Caicido, thereby forcing Arsenal to look elsewhere.
Jorginho has been at Chelsea for years now, having signed from Napoli in 2018. During this period, he has established himself as one of the most inventive holding midfielders in England’s top tier league and beyond. Not only that but Jorginho also sings an excellent passing range coupled with his ability to score crucial goals when necessary.
For Arsenal fans, this could be a huge boost if they are able to convince Chelsea into selling Jorginho as he is known for his tidy close control and strong defensive skills which will be beneficial when it comes to protecting their back-line. Additionally, the addition of Jorginho would give Mikel Arteta another experienced midfielder who can help foster team cohesion and chemistry.
