Contract details plus jersey number of new Arsenal signing Jorginho revealed
Arsenal have finished the signing of Jorginho from Chelsea and contract details have been revealed as we wait for the official announcement.
Arsenal have agreed a deal with Chelsea to sign Italian midfielder Jorginho in a £12million move. Personal terms have been agreed on a contract that will run until the summer of 2024, with an option to extend by one year.
The 31-year-old is expected to arrive at Arsenal’s training ground today to undergo his medical and complete the move before the January transfer window deadline according to The Athletic.
The Italian international is known for his passing ability and vision, as well as his ability to control possession in midfield. He is also adept at set pieces, having scored several goals from free kicks during his time at Napoli and Chelsea. Jorginho will wear the shirt number 20 at Arsenal as per reports.
Jorginho’s arrival at Arsenal will be seen as a major coup for manager Mikel Arteta, who has been keen to add more quality to his midfield this season. The Spaniard has already signed Leandro Trossard from Brighton & Hove Albion to improve on their attack ahead of what is a critical period of their quest for the Premier League trophy.
Overall, Jorginho’s arrival at Arsenal is a major boost for Mikel Arteta’s side as they look to push for the Premier League trophy this season.
