Done deal, Arsenal complete the signing of Jakub Piotr Kiwior
Arsenal have gotten busy in the past few days as its now reported that the gunners have completed the signing of centre back Jakub Piotr Kiwior.
Arsenal have reached an agreement with Serie A club Spezia to sign Polish international centre-back Jakub Kiwior as per transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano. The deal is reported to be worth €20 million and makes 22-year-old Kiwior the club’s second signing of the January transfer window after arrival of Leandro Trossard.
Kiwior has been ever present for Spezia since he signed for them two years ago, making a total of 37 appearances for the Seria A side whilst playing a pivotal role in their remarkable success in establishing themselves as a qualified team in Italy’s top division. During his time at Spezia, Kiwior has proven himself to be reliable defender and an asset when it comes to his ability to break up opposition attacks. His impressive physicality also stands him out as a capable aerial presence at set pieces, something that could be valuable to Arsenal in more defensive situations.
Having also made 9 appearances at international level for Poland’s national side, it is clear that Kiwior has well and truly established himself as a sought-after talent within Europe’s elite divisions.
Given Arsenal are still in two other competitions apart from the Premier League, then the arrival of this young centre back will allow Mikel Arteta to rest some other valuable players for the title race of the English league. It is believed that the Polish defender will undergo a medical in the next 48 hours before being announced officially by Arsenal.
