Fuming Mikel Arteta gives his thoughts on Arsenal’s draw with Newcastle United
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened up about his side’s 0-0 draw with Newcastle United in his post-match press conference.

Arsenal today welcomed Newcastle United at the Emirates Stadium with the hope of getting all the three points to continue their fine form but they were however unable to score against the Magpies as the game ended as a 0-0 draw. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta was obviously hoping and expecting a win, and he has opened up about how he felt about the draw.
Arsenal were brilliant in the first ten minutes of the game as they started with a lot of tempo and desire to go forward but as the game went forward, the visitors also started getting some chances from time to time. Newcastle United’s best chance was at the end of the first half as they almost went in front thanks to a corner kick.
The second half first few minutes were disaster for Arsenal as Newcastle United this time kept possession and held the ball but the gunners were able to get the momentum later on in the game while The Magpies went into defensive mode. Mikel Arteta did not have any attacking options to bring from the bench and so despite some late chances, the gunners were unable to score hence it ending 0-0.
“I’m really proud of the way we played the way we dominated the game. We lacked that spark in the final third to find the opening. We had situations around the box to do better and then two penalties.” Arteta told Football.London.
