The soon to be newly signed Leandro Trossard is set to join Arsenal in this January transfer window and many are wondering what his role in the team will be. Will Mikel Arteta opt to play him on the right or on the left side of the flanks, and who would he replace in the starting eleven?

Leandro Trossard play style will also suit Arsenal’s current style of play under Arteta, which focuses on quick passing, pressing and high intensity of possession football. Mikel Arteta no longer changes his formations frequently and if he is to continue with the 4-2-3-1, formation then the chances are that Trossard would be deployed on one of the wings where his abilities on the ball can really shine through. His pace and agility make him perfect for taking on defenders 1v1 while his crossing ability will also be beneficial for providing service to Gabriel Jesus/Nketiah – two players who thrive when receiving passes in dangerous areas.
