Arsenal have been handed a major boost ahead of their Wednesday match against Everton as it has been confirmed that The Toffees main striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin will not be available for the game.

The news was confirmed by Everton manager Sean Dyche, who said that the striker is unlikely to be fit for the match. This was further corroborated by journalist Chris Wheatley, who tweeted that Calvert-Lewin has been ruled out of the game due to an injury.

Arsenal come into this match with huge confidence after they on Saturday defeated Leicester City one nil to go two points clear at the top of the Premier League table after 24 games. Manchester City are just two points behind them and so Mikel Arteta will wish they win against Everton so that they keep up their Premier League title charge.

The Gunners have won their last two matches in all competitions and will be looking to make it three on Wednesday night. They have also kept one clean sheets in their last four matches, which is a testament to how they’ve started being open in the past few weeks, something that Mikel Arteta will wish to address.

Arteta will be hoping his side can continue their good form and take advantage of Calvert-Lewin’s absence to get all three points from this match. It promises to be an exciting encounter between two sides who are both vying for opposite ends, as Arsenal want to win the Premier League and The Toffees want to escape relegation.
