Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is expected to miss tonight’s crucial top-of-the-table Premier League game against Manchester City due to a muscular injury as per The Athletic. The 29 year-old Ghana international, who joined the Gunners from Atletico Madrid a few years ago, has been a key figure in Arsenal’s impressive start to the season and his absence will be a major blow for Mikel Arteta’s side.

The news of Partey’s injury comes as a further setback for Arsenal, who extended their winless run to three games on Saturday with a 1-1 home draw with Brentford. The draw means Arsenal face going into Wednesday’s highly-anticipated clash with Manchester City with the prospect of losing their place at the top of the Premier League. The Gunners have led the way since August but could lose their top spot if Manchester City wins on Wednesday since they are just three points ahead.

The absence of Partey will be a huge blow for Arsenal as they look to maintain their position at the top of the table against one of their biggest rivals. It remains to be seen how Arteta will adjust his team without Partey but it is likely that he will turn to Jorginho as the replacement in midfield.

Tonight’s game between Arsenal and Man City promises to be an exciting one and it could have huge implications on the title race if Man City can take advantage of Partey’s absence and secure all three points.
