Arteta comments on Kieran Tierney leaving Arsenal for Newcastle in the summer
There has been some transfer rumours about the future of Kieran Tierney and Mikel Arteta has finally come out to make a statement about this.

Kieran Tierney has been linked with a summer move to Newcastle United and Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has opened up about the future of the Scottish international.
The 24-year-old left back joined Arsenal from Celtic in the 2019 summer transfer window and has become a regular in the starting eleven in the following seasons. However, here in the 2022/23 campaign, Tierney has made a few league appearances since the gunners signed Oleksandr Zinchenko in the 2022 summer transfer window and is currently the first choice left back of Mikel Arteta.
When asked about Tierney’s future with Newcastle United interested, Arteta said as per the media: “I don’t know, I’m not thinking about it. I’m thinking about what’s best for the team. Obviously the players have the right to play, which they all deserve. We’re going to try to do that in next couple of games.”
It is clear that Arteta is focused on getting his team into top form and he will not be distracted by any potential transfer rumours surrounding his players. He also added that he wants to give all his players an opportunity to play and prove themselves before making any decisions regarding their futures at Arsenal.
Tierney has been impressive for Arsenal since joining from Celtic and it would be a shame if he were to leave this summer as he still has plenty of potential to offer at Emirates Stadium. However, it remains to be seen whether or not Newcastle United will make an official move for him this summer or if he will remain at Arsenal for another season under Arteta’s guidance.
Whatever happens with Tierney’s future, it is clear that Mikel Arteta is focused on getting his team into top form and will not be distracted by any potential transfer rumours surrounding his players. He wants all his players to have an opportunity to play and prove themselves before making any decisions regarding their futures at Arsenal.
