Arteta gives an update on availability of Partey for their game against Aston Villa
Thomas Partey missed Arsenal’s previous game due to an injury and his boss Mikel Arteta has today given an update on the availability of him in their game against Aston Villa.
This Saturday, Arsenal will face Aston Villa in the early kick-off, and manager Mikel Arteta is hoping to find a way to stop their current slide. The Gunners have been on a poor run of form lately, having not won any of their last four matches across all competitions. Defeat to Manchester City saw them fall off the top of the Premier League table, and they will be looking to get back on track against Villa.
However, Arteta has revealed an update on the availability of Thomas Partey who missed Arsenal’s game against Manchester City due to a muscular injury sustained in training. “We have to assess him again today. He has some muscle discomfort and we have to see how he is” said Arteta when speaking to Arsenal media.
Partey has been an integral part of Arsenal’s midfield since his arrival from Atletico Madrid a few years ago. His presence in the middle of the park has been crucial for Arsenal this season, as he provides energy and dynamism that was lacking before his arrival. His absence would be a huge blow for the Gunners if he is unable to feature against Aston Villa this weekend.
If Partey is unable to feature against Aston Villa this weekend, it will be a huge blow for Arsenal as they look to get back on track after their recent poor run of form. However, Arteta will be hoping that Partey can recover in time for Saturday’s match so that he can help lead his side back up the table with a much-needed win over Aston Villa.
