Arsenal fans have been given a boost with the news that three of their injured players are close to returning to action. Manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson and Gabriel Jesus are all making progress in their respective recoveries.

Arteta said telling reporters: “Emile Smith Rowe, Reiss Nelson, Gabriel Jesus are closer. They are doing some activities, they have been outside.”

Emile Smith Rowe has been out of action for the Gunners’ last two games due to a groin problem. The 22-year-old midfielder had been a key player for Arsenal last season, but he has however struggled with injuries this season. He is now close to making his return and will be a welcome addition to the team.

Gabriel Jesus, 25, has been on the sidelines since December after an injury sustained at the World Cup ruled him out for three months. He underwent surgery to address the issue and spent time recovering overseas before working with Arsenal medics in England in January. Now he is close to being back in action and could provide a much needed boost for Arsenal’s attacking options.

Reiss Nelson suffered a hamstring injury during the friendly against Juventus in December and has been absent ever since. He is now close to making his return which will be another welcome addition for Arteta’s side as they look to finish the season strongly.

The news that these three players are close to returning will be music to Arsenal fans’ ears as they look forward to seeing them back on the pitch soon. With their return, Arteta’s side will have more options available as they look to win the Premier League and UEFA Europa League trophies this season.
