Gabriel Martinelli makes a statement after signing new deal with Arsenal
Gabriel Martinelli has today signed a new deal with Arsenal Football Club which will now see him stay at the Emirates Stadium for a long time. The youngster has made a statement on that.
The Arsenal fans has seen much joy in the past hours as it was announced that Gabriel Martinelli signed a new contract with the Club, which will keep him at Emirates Stadium until June 2027. With an option to extend for one more year, Martinelli spoke of his happiness after signing his new deal.
The 21-year-old stated telling Arsenal Player: “I feel amazing, I’m really happy in getting the new contract. I want to do my best for the team and for the fans as well, to give back to them and make them proud. I’ve said it many times, I love everything about Arsenal. I love the city, I love my teammates, I love the fans and I love the club.”
Martinelli first joined Arsenal from Ituano FC back in 2019 and revealed how nervous he was when moving over to England due to not being able to understand any English. He said:
“I remember I was so, so nervous and I couldn’t speak one word of English! It’s even worse because you couldn’t even talk to the guys and I remember that I didn’t understand anything the guys were saying to me. I remember when I got the shirt and I saw the badge, I was so proud and so happy. I still have that feeling when I wear it.”
Considering how quickly he settled into life at Arsenal and established himself in Mikel Arteta’s team following his arrival in 2019, Martinelli has already proven he is willing to put in extra effort on the pitch and this newfound dedication has been reflected through his forms since joining Arsenal and extending his contract further embodies this mentality.
