Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has expressed his delight at the news that Gabriel Martinelli has signed a new long-term deal with the Gunners. The 21-year-old Brazilian forward has committed his future to the club until June 2027, with an option to extend for a further season.

Arteta was quick to praise the young starlet, saying as per Arsenal Media: “It’s great news. We want to build all the talent and youth that we have in the squad, so it’s great to see them happy and willing to commit to the club and what we want to do for the future. He’s a player with enormous potential – he still has so many things to improve but he’s already performing at a really high level.”

The Arsenal manager also believes that there is still plenty of room for improvement in Martinelli’s game, adding: “He can develop physically. He can develop mentally. He can develop in terms of consistency. He can develop defensively. He can develop in the final third and in the spaces that he occupies. His numbers can be improved, and he’s so willing – that’s the best thing about Gabi.”

Martinelli joined Arsenal from Ituano FC in the 2019 summer and has since then become one of their most important players as he has even this season already scored seven goals and provided two assists in the Premier League. His performances have earned him plaudits from both fans and pundits alike, as well as recognition from his manager who believes he is one of Arsenal’s most exciting prospects for years to come.

The new contract marks a major milestone in Martinelli’s career and will no doubt provide him with added motivation as he looks to continue his development at Arsenal over the coming years. With Arteta’s guidance, there is no telling how far Martinelli could go if he continues on his current trajectory – something which will no doubt excite Gunners fans everywhere.

I just love writing and football so much ever since the 2000's when football got popular in our country. I am a self esteemed person who believes is am always right.
