Tomiyasu comments on Ben White ‘stealing’ his right back starting spot
Arsenal right back Tomiyasu seemed to have no tough competition last season but everyone has however been stunned to see Ben White take ownership of the right back position.

Tomiyasu, the Japanese international, has recently spoken out about losing his position as the starting right back for Arsenal Football Club. Despite featuring regularly for the Gunners this season, he has only made four starts in the Premier League thus far. The emergence of William Saliba as a centre-back has led to Ben White being shifted to the right-back position, resulting in Tomiyasu being relegated to the substitutes’ bench.
Despite being disappointed with the situation, Tomiyasu has accepted the competition for places within the team. He acknowledges that White has been playing exceptionally well and that this has contributed to him losing his starting role. Tomiyasu says telling Goal, “You have to accept the reality. Ben White has been doing very well. He is fantastic.”
Despite this, Tomiyasu remains determined to prove his worth on the pitch and show what he can do. He stated, “Of course, I want to play from the start. The only thing I can do is prove my value on the pitch and show what I can do.”

He is focused on doing what he can to help the team, regardless of whether he is starting or coming off the bench. Tomiyasu added, “I just want to help the team. It doesn’t matter if I’m playing from the start or not. When I’m on the pitch, I give everything.”
Arsenal is currently doing well as they are at the top of the Premier League, and Tomiyasu is fully aware of this. He is willing to do what he can to contribute to the team’s success, even if it means playing a more limited role. He is a true team player and his attitude is commendable.
In conclusion, Tomiyasu has shown great maturity in his response to losing his starting role. He has accepted the competition for places and remains focused on doing what he can to help the team. His determination to prove his worth on the pitch and his unwavering commitment to the team is an example to all aspiring footballers.
