Two players that Arteta might surprisingly include in squad against Man City
Arsenal’s match against Manchester City is just a few hours from now and we take a look two players that Mikel Arteta might surprisingly add in the squad of today’s game.

As Arsenal prepare to face Manchester City in tonight’s game, there are two surprising players that could unexpectedly be in the squad. Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe have both been recovering from injuries and were not expected to be available for selection. However, Mikel Arteta has hinted that he is considering including them in the squad for Wednesday’s game.
Reiss Nelson suffered a hamstring injury during the friendly against Juventus in December and has been absent ever since but is now back in training and could make his return against Manchester City. The 23-year-old return would be a major boost for the Gunners as they look to get back to winning ways against their rivals.
Emile Smith Rowe is another player who could make an unexpected return against Manchester City. The 22 year old has missed Arsenal’s last three games due to a groin problem but he is back in training and could feature against the Citizens. Smith Rowe impressed last season for the gunners , as he was one of the players that led them to a fifth position finish on the Premier League table but he hasn’t got many chances this season. His creativity and energy would be a welcome addition to the Arsenal midfield as they look to take all three points at the Emirates Stadium today.

Both Reiss Nelson and Emile Smith Rowe have been key players for Arsenal in past seasons but they haven’t been seen in matchday squads a lot this season, so their potential inclusion in tonight’s game would come as a surprise to many fans. It remains to be seen whether Mikel Arteta will include them in his squad, but if he does it could give Arsenal more options off the bench if Mikel Arteta’s first eleven fails to do the job.
