West Ham tells Arsenal what to do to sign Declan Rice in the summer
Arsenal will be looking to improve their squad in the summer transfer window and it is believed that West Ham’s Declan Rice will be one of their main targets.
West Ham United are facing a battle to keep hold of their star midfielder Declan Rice in the upcoming summer, with Arsenal reportedly interested in signing the England international. The Gunners have been linked with a swoop for the 24-year-old, and could be ready to make a big money move for a midfielder at the end of the season.
However, West Ham boss David Moyes has warned that any potential suitors will have to blow the British transfer record “out of the water” if they want to sign Rice as per The Sun. The current record stands at £106million, which was set when Chelsea signed Enzo Fernandez from Benfica in 2023.
Rice has been one of West Ham’s most consistent performers since joining from Chelsea in 2014, and has established himself as one of the best defensive midfielders in the Premier League. He has made over 150 appearances for the club and is widely regarded as one of their most important players.
Arsenal have already signed Jorginho on loan from Chelsea as short-term cover after missing out on Moises Caicedo in January, but may still be keen on signing Rice if they can afford his hefty price tag. However, Moyes’ comments suggest that any potential suitors will need to break records if they want to sign him this summer.
