Newcastle United are reportedly planning a move for Arsenal full-back Kieran Tierney, who has been an important member of the squad since joining the club in the 2019 summer transfer window. However, with the arrival of Oleksandr Zinchenko in the 2022 summer transfer window, Tierney has lost his place in the starting lineup as Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta prefers the Ukrainian international.

According to a report by The Telegraph, Arsenal’s asking price for Tierney this summer will be in excess of £30 million. This is a significant amount of money, but it is not surprising given Tierney’s quality and potential. He is a talented left-back who is comfortable on the ball and has excellent defensive skills. He has also shown that he can contribute to Arsenal’s attack with his crossing ability and willingness to get forward.

It remains to be seen whether Newcastle United will be willing to pay such a high fee for Tierney. The Magpies have been linked with several players this summer as they look to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season that will start in August.

If Newcastle do decide to make a move for Tierney, they will be getting a player who is still only 25 years old and has plenty of potential for further development. He has already established himself as one of the best left-backs in the Premier League and could become even better with more experience and coaching.

As for Tierney himself, he has yet to publicly comment on reports linking him with a summer exit from Arsenal. It is unclear whether he would be open to leaving the club or if he sees his future at Emirates Stadium.

Overall, it will be interesting to see how this situation develops over the coming weeks and months. If Newcastle do make a move for Tierney, it could signal their intent to challenge for higher positions in the Premier League table next season. On the other hand, if Arsenal hold onto their talented left-back, they will have an excellent player at their disposal.
