Leandro Trossard fires a subtle warning to Gabriel Jesus after his return from injury
Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard was on Sunday outstanding in their 3-0 win over Fulham and he has now fired a warning to Gabriel Jesus who returned from injury.
Arsenal’s January signing Leandro Trossard proved his worth in the team’s recent 3-0 win over Fulham, providing three assists in the match. Despite only being with the club for a few months, Trossard has already made an impact and is determined to fight for his place in the starting eleven.
The win over Fulham also saw the return of Gabriel Jesus, who had been out for three months due to an injury sustained at the World Cup. Trossard acknowledged Jesus’ talent and contribution to Arsenal, but emphasized the importance of competition within the team.
“A lot. I had it already when I arrived here. It’s not that I went into the starting XI from the first week. I had to fight as well for it.” said Trossard as per Goal when asked if he relished the competition.
“I think we have such a good group and competition is that high that, as you saw in the last few weeks, we need everyone to win games. That’s what it is all about. That’s how you can win things.”
On Jesus, Trossard said: “He is a top player and he has contributed a lot already for Arsenal. You can see his presence. He makes other players better as well. We need everyone and it’s great to have him back.”
As Arsenal currently sits at the top of the Premier League table with 66 points after 27 games, they are in a tight title race with second-placed Manchester City who have 61 points. Trossard believes that having a strong squad with healthy competition is crucial for winning games and ultimately achieving success.
Trossard’s attitude towards competition is admirable and reflects Arsenal’s overall mentality as they strive for greatness this season. With players like Jesus returning from injury and new signings like Trossard making an impact, Arsenal has a strong chance of coming out on top in the Premier League race.
It will be interesting to see how Trossard continues to perform and fight for his place in the starting eleven as Arsenal faces tough opponents in their remaining fixtures. However, with his determination and skill on display, it seems likely that he will continue to make valuable contributions to the team’s success.
