Arteta’s Arsenal identifies two striker targets for the summer
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will look to improve his squad in the summer transfer window and a report has revealed their two striker targets for the summer.
Arsenal have identified two potential striker targets for the upcoming summer transfer window. The Gunners are reportedly interested in signing Dusan Vlahovic and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, according to sources close to the club as per Football Insider.
Mikel Arteta is said to be pleased with the performances of Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah, but believes that the team needs a more physical and powerful forward to add balance to the side. Both Vlahovic and Calvert-Lewin fit this profile, with their imposing physiques and ability to hold up play.
Vlahovic, who currently plays for Juventus in Serie A, has been in impressive form this season. The 23-year-old Serbian has scored 8 goals in the league. His performances have caught the attention of several top clubs across Europe, including Arsenal.
Calvert-Lewin, meanwhile, has been a key player for Everton this season. The 26-year-old Englishman has however surprisingly only scored one goal this season raising questions why the gunners might want him.
Both Vlahovic and Calvert-Lewin would bring different qualities to Arsenal’s attack. Vlahovic is known for his technical ability and finishing skills, while Calvert-Lewin is more of a physical presence who can hold up play and bring others into the game.
Signing either Vlahovic or Calvert-Lewin would represent a significant investment for Arsenal, but it could be worth it if they can help improve the team’s attacking output.
Overall, it remains to be seen which striker Arsenal will ultimately sign this summer. But both Vlahovic and Calvert-Lewin would be exciting additions to the squad, and could help take the team to the next level.
