Arteta responds to reports of Granit Xhaka leaving Arsenal in the summer
Arsenal midfielder Granit Xhaka has been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium in this summer transfer window and Mikel Arteta has responded to these reports.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has spoken out on the future of Granit Xhaka at the Emirates Stadium amid reports claiming that he could be sold in the summer transfer window. The Gunners are currently in a title race as they are second on the 2022/23 Premier League table with 81 points after 35 games but are closely following first-placed Manchester City, which has 82 points plus one game in hand.
Granit Xhaka has been impressive for Arsenal this season as he has scored five goals as well as providing seven assists in the Premier League. Despite rumors of his departure, Arteta has expressed his satisfaction with Xhaka’s performance and contribution to the team.
“I’m not gonna reply to certain stories about Xhaka. I’m extremely happy with Granit, he’s having an incredible season,” Arteta told reporters. “This is probably the best season he’s had at the club. We are really happy to have him.”
Xhaka joined Arsenal from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2016 and has since become a key player for the Gunners. He has made over 200 appearances for Arsenal and was appointed captain by former manager Unai Emery before being stripped of the armband following an altercation with fans during a match against Crystal Palace in 2019.

However, under Arteta’s leadership, Xhaka has regained his form and confidence on the pitch. The Swiss international midfielder has been instrumental in Arsenal’s recent success, including their impressive run in this Premier League title race.
Arsenal fans will be pleased to hear that Xhaka is likely to stay at the club, especially given his recent performances. The Gunners have struggled in recent years, but with Arteta at the helm and players like Xhaka in the squad, there is hope that they can return to their former glory.
In conclusion, Arteta’s comments on Xhaka’s future at Arsenal should reassure fans that the midfielder is not going anywhere. Xhaka has been a key player for the Gunners this season and his contribution to the team cannot be underestimated. With Arsenal in a title race and looking to strengthen their squad in the summer transfer window, keeping Xhaka will be crucial for their success next season.
